I'm looking for folks who have gone through Gen 1 - 3 using the Simply the Story method. I particularly would like input on how large a section of Genesis 1 - 3 you covered in one session.
The first time I did it, I had not yet attended an STS workshop, but had read some of the materials online. I usually tell the creation story of Genesis 1:1 through 2:3 as one story, The creation of Adam and Eve in Genesis 2:4-25 as one story, and Genesis 3, the fall, as one story.
They are very big. I know in STS we began training in 5 to 10 verse stories. So there is some challenge to a bigger story. You really need to feel out what is best for the group you are working with.
Stephen;
I talked with Regina Manley and Dorothy Miller, got some good suggestions, then did days 1 - 3 in the first session. There's actually kind of a natural break there with the last three days filling what was made in the first three days, as Regina pointed out.
1) I pre-assigned each group a day and they worked it for ten minutes
at the beginning before I did the initial story presentation. One

2) I did the presentation near sunset under a big maple tree!
Storying creation in creation - I loved it.
3) The groups did re-tell based on hearing me tell it, but mainly
based on their pre-session practice.
4) We did discovery of spiritual truths and some application
